Our Story

Chesapeake Goods & Co. is owned by myself, Olivia. Both my husband & I were born & raised in Maryland. We became interested in tallow skincare when we were both struggling with chronic dry hands that never seemed to heal. I learned about how tallow is an occlusive moisturizer creating a protective barrier for our skin.

After trying tallow a few times, I decided to render it myself! I purchased grass-fed & finished beef suet from a regenerative farm here in Maryland that I still source my suet from today.

We have since perfected our tallow process to minimize smell using a triple wet rendering process that pulls the impurities out. We are judicious about what other ingredients we add to our formulations. We do not cut tallow with olive oil which can clog pores. We use non-pore clogging jojoba oil infused with herbal flowers to maximize antioxidant benefit. We are also essential oil free as essential oils are linked to eye irritation and skin allergies. Once you try our meticulously formulated tallow, you won't go back!
