Shipping policy
At Chesapeake Goods & Co., every product is handcrafted in small batches using natural ingredients. Because our products are made with grass-fed tallow and other natural ingredients, they may soften or melt when exposed to high temperatures during shipping or after delivery.
Warm Weather Shipping
During the warmer months, temperatures inside delivery vehicles, mailboxes, and on porches can become significantly hotter than the outdoor temperature. While we carefully package all orders and take every reasonable precaution to protect products during transit, we cannot control shipping conditions once a package leaves our facility.
To help prevent melting, we recommend:

Tracking your package and bringing it indoors as soon as possible after delivery.

Having your order shipped to a location where someone can receive it.

Using a delivery location protected from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
By placing an order during warmer weather, customers acknowledge that natural tallow-based products may soften or melt during transit or after delivery if exposed to elevated temperatures.
If Your Product Arrives Melted
If your product arrives softened or melted, it is not considered damaged and remains safe and effective to use. Simply place the product in the refrigerator until it has fully solidified.
Please note that melting or softening due to warm weather does not qualify for a replacement or refund. Because our products are made with natural ingredients and contain no synthetic stabilizers, some softening or melting may occur during periods of extreme heat.
While melting may change the texture or appearance of whipped products, it does not affect the quality, efficacy, or intended use of the product.
Damaged Orders
We take full responsibility for products that arrive physically damaged during shipping, including:

Broken glass containers

Cracked jars

Leaking products

Other transit-related damage that affects the usability of the product
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include photographs of both the damaged item and the shipping packaging. We will gladly provide a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you.
